3/8/2011 2 Comments Remembering Our Blessings Hello parents, It's the end of winter (oh *please* let it be the end!) and personally, I'm feeling a bit worn out. There hasn't been a decent break in a while and there doesn't seem to be one in the near future. Day in and day out, I have to keep reminding myself WHY I'm hs'ing, WHY I'm doing my best to deal with behavior issues, and WHY I'm willing to give up some of that "Me Time" during my days. I know that God has a plan for our family, for our children....it's just that, well, I need more reminders at certain times of the year! This is one of those times~ So please, let's encourage one another today! What are some of the *blessings* of home education? What are the highlights of your day? How has God shown you that you are still on the right track, that it's all worth it, and that ultimately, HE is in control?? Let's share a bit of light today for that hs momma that might be struggling (like me!) during this end-of-winter season. How has God blessed you today??

3/2/2011 1 Comment Changes keep a comin'....We are slowly but surely making changes around here! It's gonna take a while, but we are contacting websites, letting them know about our new site, asking them to put up our new link and removing the older ones. There are a lot of sites out there we can plug into and get the word out about CHEBWA, but it's just going to take some time. So in the next few weeks, if you find a site with an older CHEBWA link - just drop us a line and give us the address so we can get it changed! The first site - HSLDA - was changed today! Progress made! We also have a new email addy: chebwa@hotmail.com Just as various members will be contributing to this blog, our leadership panel will all have access to this email addy as well. Friday, Feb. 25th @ 7pm **in place of a February monthly meeting** So bring a dish to share (serves 6-8), plus about 15 copies of your recipe. We will be eating, talking about plans for next year and generally just enjoying a fun night out of the house with a bunch of GREAT GALS! Hope to see ya there~ **PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED DIRECTIONS** 2/15/2011 1 Comment On-line conference?!So, yes, this type of conference has been around for a few years, but I would say the majority of hs'ers have yet to actually attend one of these events (ok, well, at least *I* haven't). Yet taking a look around Heart of the Matter's website, I'm intrigued... Well-known speakers in the HS world, virtual gift bags, door prizes, attending a conference in my *jammies* PLUS the ability to interact LIVE, online, with the speakers. If you can't carve out the time to sit in front of your computer for the whole conference, you can view a schedule and pick out your favorite speakers and/or topics. You can also get MP3s of specific speakers so you won't have to miss a thing!  So what do you think? Too weird? Too techy? Or exactly what you need to meet the specific needs of a hs'ing momma? Let us know your thoughts! If you are planning on attending or maybe just thinking about it, let us know.
